ICM: Service to the Community.

Inter-Church Ministries of Erie County is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit providing unduplicated services throughout the county and ever expanding to serve more people in need.  Now in our fifth decade of community service, we have run the Coats for Kids campaign for 33 years and the Voucher System for Emergency Assistance (VSEA) for almost 30 years; the VSEA is a niche program ingeniously managed and distributed through a network of church & faith community offices, providing aid when other community resources are not available.  As we look to expand, we are welcoming other agencies and social service organizations to the VSEA.  Historically, ICM has been a catalyst in the development and promotion of many programs addressing needs of individuals and the community at large including social justice, poverty, hunger, racial injustice,, immigration, womens’ issues, seniors and the elderly.

Faith-based, yes, and an umbrella organization for the churches of Erie County; yet our focus is on providing for the needs of others without concern for the faith of those served.  Thus, we work and collaborate with many social services agencies and other faith communities to best meet those needs.   Our newly upgraded database supporting the voucher program is an online system that we can offer to other community non-profits as they also serve the people of Erie County.

Our “Coats for Kids” campaign will be in it’s 33rd year; more information publicized soon. We also administer the Laura Wilkinson Memorial Fund through local funeral directors and faith leaders to assist families with funeral assistance for the burial of a child.

ICM needs your support for this unique service and the other work we do.  We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and everything those descriptive terms embody – and beyond – that this beloved community can be a place of justice and peace for all, of opportunity to grow and thrive, a place to joyfully and lovingly belong, a real and true home.  Neither ICM nor any of our community non-profits can survive on good will and good intentions.  Please remember Inter-Church Ministries on Erie Gives Day.  Our community needs ICM and we need you.  Thank you for your support.

(You may give on-line on Erie Gives Day, August 10, or by check.  A check form must be included with the check and can be obtained from ICM or on the Erie Community Foundation website; the checks plus form need to be received at the ECF by August 9.)
